ABOUT ME [FUTURE GEMS]
The core of what we do at Future Gems is to build each child’s confidence not just so they can perform in front of others, but so they can truly feel comfortable in their own skin and embrace what they have to offer in life.
This starts from using positive dialogue in class and encouraging our students to do the same. Whenever we hear students doubting their ability, using words like “I can’t” or “I will never be good enough to do that,” we are quick to redirect this and ask them how they can rephrase it in a positive light (this is even with our tiniest dancers as this is where their inner voice and confidence starts to shape)
We will always encourage our dancers to believe in their ability and will use different tools such as writing in their dance diary, performing to each other and coming up with their own combinations, to help them build confidence and allow them to feel ready to perform on stage. What it often comes down to though, is us working with each individual child and personalising their experience to suit their needs and personality type. Each child is at a different stage in their journey and require a different teaching style to allow them to reach their full potential.
ABOUT YOU [OUR DREAM FAMILIES]
I know you and I know you want nothing more than to see your child in a class that they enjoy, beaming with confidence and not scared to try out new things. I know you will simply love seeing your child twirling into dance class with a huge smile on their face without the need to cling to your leg. Fast forward a few years and I know you will love seeing their confidence sky rocket as they get up on stage and perform for you without needing you to be there side of stage. Fast forward another few years when they hit the squad levels and you secretly have a tear in your eye as you see them conquer steps they once thought they couldn’t do and now lead our younger students as they gain a new found confidence in teaching.
It really is a beautiful cycle that we are proud to be a part of. As a parent you can have full confidence in us, knowing that your dancer is learning not only how to be a strong and graceful dancer, but also having a delightful time in class with all of their dancing friends. You can also have confidence knowing that we will regularly communicate with you about their progress and upcoming events, and run the studio in an organised and professional manner.
ABOUT US [YOU AND ME TOGETHER]
Together as a team, we can create remarkable things. With the loving support of your teacher, your dancer will feel empowered to try new steps, to practice and feel excited about their progress and will celebrate their achievements when they reach milestones. As a class we lift each other up and help boost our friend’s confidence. Even in our youngest classes, we regularly see kids clapping on their friends and cheering them on when they do steps by themselves. It is so beautiful seeing 3 year olds clapping with excitement saying “you can do it!” (it’s also very cute!)
Together we work as team to ensure no one is left behind. We help each other succeed so that when it comes to performing on stage or even doing something outside of the studio that is a bit scary, they know they have the full backing from the studio. They know they are ready, supported and celebrated either way, so that they can just get out there and enjoy the experience.
